Obituary

Debbie Lynn Hauser, age 71, passed away on July 4, 2026, at her home while surrounded by her family, due to complications with cancer and heart failure. She was born on September 26, 1954, to Gene and Germaine (Engel) Day. She grew up in Appleton with her four brothers. She graduated from Appleton West High School.

True to her Wisconsin heritage, Debbie met Glenn Hauser at Embers Bar. Her brother Jeff introduced the two, and their first date happened to be a wedding. Glenn knew right away that Debbie was his soulmate, he was drawn to her down-to-earth nature. They married on May 24, 1975, and began their family.

First and foremost, Debbie was a wife, mom, grandma and faithful servant. She loved being a mom and was a homemaker until her youngest children were in high school. She loved to maintain a house that her family could be proud of. She passed that gene along to her children who now keep neat and tidy homes. She believed there was a place for everything and everything was in its place. She taught her children to respect and care for their belongings. As the household manager, she was also frugal and believed in finding the best deal and using coupons.

Debbie enjoyed being near the water and in earlier years she enjoyed water skiing and swimming. She enjoyed time with friends and coworkers. Debbie returned to the workforce as a pharmacy technician and her Shopko Pharmacy coworkers took a liking to her and nicknamed her “Little Debbie”. She enjoyed social time with those with whom she worked. Debbie enjoyed happy hours, social time, dinners, stories and phone calls with her friends-her time at Shopko truly brought a blossoming to her world and personality.

Debbie was a natural caretaker and caregiver. She took care of everyone and everything within her orbit. Charlie the dog was a recipient of that skill. There was a family adventure to Hawaii in 2013 which was a longtime goal of hers. When grandchildren arrived, she returned to her caregiving role and it was a role she truly cherished. Debbie loved it when her whole family could be together, whether for weddings, family cottage trips, or adventures to Door County.

Debbie is survived by her husband Glenn, her children: Chad (Jesseca) Hauser, Hope (Brad) McPeake, Rachel (Josh) Robinson, Renee (Mike) Londo; grandchildren: Rowan and Graham McPeake, Hailey and Maggie Robinson, Paige Hauser, Elizabeth and Henry Londo. In addition, she is survived by her brothers Terry (Cindy) Day and Jeff (Patty) Day, Tracy (Amanda) Day as well as many other family members and friends.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Germaine, brother Walley Day.

A funeral service for Debbie will take place on Friday July 10, 2026, at 11:00am at Wichmann Funeral Home-Tri County Chapel, 1592 S Oneida Street, Menasha. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 9:00am until the service begins. Debbie will be entombed at Highland Memorial Park.

Debbie’s family would like to thank AseraCare Hospice, specifically, Tammy, Kayla, Abbey and Pedro for their compassionate care of both Debbie and the family.
