Deanna L. Hummel

Deanna Lynn Hummel (Nee Erdmann), 65, passed away on October 14th, 2025. Her life was marked by both challenges and complexity.

Deanna suffered from an insidious disease that often goes unnamed in obituaries. It is stigmatized and hidden under phrases like sudden and unexpected passing when the reality is there is nothing sudden or unexpected about it. Various mental health diagnoses and alcohol addiction were prominent in her life.

She had resources and access to treatment. Addiction still won. Addiction does not discriminate. No one is immune.

She is survived by her Daughter, Tricia Hermsen (James), and two grandchildren; Brother, Dennis Erdmann; Step-Sisters: Laura (Steve) Stoll, Julie (Bob) Babbits, and Step-Brother David Pack.

Visitation will take place on Saturday November 8th from 11 am until 1 pm with a luncheon being served.

Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established with a portion going a program that works with animals that provide services to teens with substance abuse disorders.
