Dean Wink, age 92, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 29, 2025, at Aspire Senior Living, in Kimberly. Dean, son of the late Adolph and Clara (Timm) Wink, was born on May 10, 1933, in Holland, WI. He attended Holmes Grade School and was a 1951 graduate of Brillion High School.
Dean was united in holy matrimony to his high school sweetheart Gertrude (Gertie) Olp on December 26, 1953. This union was blessed with four children. Together they lived to know and love their six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Throughout his life, Dean provided for his family mainly as a salesman, driver, and State Farm Insurance agent (28 ½ years). He enjoyed singing, camping, boating, fishing, and cheering on the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers. He and Gertie enjoyed many years as seasonals at Jellystone in Fremont and winter residents of Dogwood Mobile Park in Bushnell, FL. Dean was handy, hardworking, resilient, strong-willed, and very proud of his family. He always seemed to have a story to tell, an opinion to express, and some flashy suspenders to don.
Dean was a long-time member of Riverview Lutheran Church in Appleton and St. Mark Lutheran Church in Leesburg, FL.
His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his children: Rob (Cindy) Wink, of Green Bay, Rick (Mary) Miceli-Wink, of Waupaca, and Julie (Steve) Williams, of Appleton; grandchildren: Chris (Abbie) Wink, Jessica (Steve) Pahl, Claire (fiancé Brandon Storch) Miceli-Wink, Grace Miceli-Wink, Max (Mona) Williams, and Mallory (Chris) Voigt; great grandchildren: Elliot, Garret, and Violet Wink, Leah Pahl, and Emory Voigt; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Dean was preceded in death by his parents; his doting wife of 70 years, Gertie, a son, John Paul Wink; three brothers: Willmer “Will” (Avis) Wink, Lloyd (Germaine) Wink, and Jerome “Jerry” (Lois) Wink; five sisters: Gertrude “Gert” (Harvey) Just, Berniece (Harold) Krueger, LaVerne (Merlin/”Mike”) Ott, Dorothy (Lloyd) Wolf, and Marcella “Red” (W illiam/”Bud”) deCoster; father- and mother-in-law: John and Frieda (Bubolz) Olp; brother-in-law Karl (Gwendolyn/”Gwen”) Olp; sister-in-law Helen (Harold) Bratz; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will take place on Monday September 8, 2025, at 11:00 am, at Riverview Lutheran Church with Pastor Ryan Kolander Officiating. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 9:30am until 10:45am. Dean will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to Riverview Church.
Dean’s family would like to thank the staff at Aspire Senior Living and the Moments Hospice team for their loving care in his end days.
