David L. Syring

David "Spider" Lee Syring, age 70 years young, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday March 18, 2023, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Appleton. Dave was born on June 13, 1952, to Edward and Marcella Syring and raised in Appleton with 11 brothers and sisters whom he loved so much. In his younger years, he particularly loved playing baseball, cards, going fishing, ice skating, and being the goalie in his hockey games where he proudly received his nickname "Spider" for his notably long legs. He went on to have 3 daughters of his own and instilled in them a love for sports while spending hours outside together playing softball and perfecting their pitches. Dave was rarely seen without his Chicago Cubs, Bears, or M&M Nascar gear and his famed handlebar mustache. After retiring from Luvata Wire Mill, he looked forward to his Monday night cribbage league, watching his favorite sports games, game shows, and backyard wildlife, attending breakfast dates with family, and listening to his classic country music station. 

Dave is survived by daughters Amy (Keith) McKinney, Angela (Don) Ebben, Ashley Syring (Vince), soon-to-be-born grandson Kai, siblings Donna Kohler, Richard (Shirley) Syring, Tom (Joann) Syring, Judy (Dan) Dennee, Bob Syring, Linda (Carl) De Wall, Deb (Al) Kranski, sister-in-law Vicki Syring, and brother-in-law Chet Konwinski. 

Dave was preceded in death by his father Edward Syring, mother Marcella Syring, siblings Pat (Joseph) Kosiorek, Nancy Konwinski, Kathy (Jim) Moroney, Gary Syring, brother-in-law Ed Kohler, and sister-in-law Nettie Syring. 

Dave will forever be loved and remembered for his caring demeanor, headstrong personality, and unmatched cribbage skills. 

His visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2023, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM, with a service being held at 11:00 AM, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, located at W7265 School Road in Greenville.
