David C. Schultz

David C. Schultz, age 83 of Appleton, WI passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2026 from Alzheimer’s dementia. He was born on January 5, 1943, the son of Clarence and Anna (Wallendal) Schultz of Beaver Dam, WI. David graduated from Beaver Dam High School with the class of ’62. He served his country in the Wisconsin National Guard for 6 years.

David lived most of his adult life in Waupun, WI. He married Marlene Lont of Randolph in 1968. She passed away in 2005. David attended the University of Wisconsin Madison. He worked at Mercury Marine in Fond du Lac. Most of his career, he was employed in the engineering department at Kimberly Clark, International Division as a machine designer.

David attended grade school and high school with Mae (Porath) Schrab. They were friends in school, but after graduation, their lives took different paths. Both of their spouses had passed away. David and Mae renewed their friendship on the weekend of a class reunion. They had not seen each other for 55 years. They became close friends and were engaged to be married. He was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Appleton.

David is survived by his fiancée, Mae; his adopted son, Matthew (Lyndsey); his grandchildren, Sean and Samantha; two grandchildren-in-law; his sister-in-law, Sharon; Mae's son, David (Michelle); and Mae's granddaughter, Lindsey.

David is preceded in death by his wife, Marlene; his parents, Clarence and Anna; and his brother, Alan.

A funeral visitation will be held for David from 9:30 – 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 8, 2026 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 930 E. Florida Ave, Appleton, WI 54911 with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM. David will be laid to rest at the family plot at Highland Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Beaver Dam, WI. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to Mount Olive Lutheran School or Fox Valley Lutheran High School in honor of David.
