David R. Allen, age 55, passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2010, at his home, due to a heart attack. He was born on December 27, 1954, in Oshkosh to Robert B. and Betty L. Allen, of Neenah. Dave graduated from Neenah High School in 1974. From birth, Dave's life was a challenge that he met head-on with determination to live independently. He was a well-known neighbor during the many years he lived on the island. Survivors include his parents; his siblings, Sharon (Melvin) Nickel, Debra (Dave) Marquardt, Robert (Nancy) Allen, Joyce (Pat) Maloney, all of the Fox Valley area; numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews; and many friends from past and present. Dave was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Nellie Allen, Spooner, Wisconsin; and his maternal grandparents, Fay and Orpha Buck, Two Rivers, Wisconsin. Per Dave's wishes, there will be private memorial services at a later date.
