David Allen Nyback, age 67 of Menasha, passed away November 21, 2023, after being diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy five years ago. David graduated from Menasha High School in 1975, and worked for over 35 years at Essity in Neenah, retiring in 2018. He married Garth Zimmermann in 2015.
David enjoyed playing slots and keno at casinos from Las Vegas to Escanaba. He loved to dance, was an avid novel reader, enjoyed playing card games, and loved cruises and traveling. David was quiet and reserved, but had a sly smile and a twinkle in his eye for the people and activities he enjoyed.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Steiner and Leota Nyback, his brother Richard (Paula), his sisters Shirley Coon and Carol (Dave) Koslowski. He was also preceeded by his wife Debbie.
Survivors include his husband Garth, his children Daria Nyback and Desmund Nyback, his sister Donna (Kerry) Day, his twin brother Dennis Nyback, his granddaughter Adriannah Nyback, and his dog Bear. He is further survived by multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A celebration of David’s life will be held in Spring 2024 at his home. The date and time will be announced next year.
David participated in a yearlong drug research trial at Quest Institute in Farmington, Michigan, as well as a five-year study of PSP progression at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. He was a giving, generous man, committed to the idea that the research being performed would eventually provide the answers to help others.
