David E. Krueger

David Edward Krueger, age 87, left us to be with our Lord Tuesday, August 29 2023. Dave was born in Marion, WI to Charles A.H. and Helena (Kuschel) Krueger. He was baptized July 12 1936, confirmed April 2 1950. He graduated from Clintonville High School in 1954. He then went on to serve in the United States Navy (1954-1957) onboard the USS Canisteo. David married the love of his life, Edith Ann Korb, on May 13 1961.

Dave worked as an Electrician for Local 577 International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the American Legion Post 38.

Dave owned the family farm located on Buckbee Hill between Marion and Clintonville. Grandfather William purchased the farm in the 1880’s, and was taken over by Dave’s father Charles A.H. Krueger in 1916. Dave acquired it in 1967. Dave enjoyed being a weekend farmer. He was happy riding his John Deere tractor, haying and plowing. Health reasons caused him to sell the farm in 2019. Dave also took great pride in his 1961 Corvair.

Dave liked to tinker. There was not a thing he couldn't fix which was a big help to friends and relatives. He worked on the restoration of a trolley car that now resides at the Trolley Car Museum in East Troy and helped build a model trolley car with friends Tom and Dr. Bob. Dave was a volunteer at Faith and Celebration Lutheran Church.

Dave loved to travel. He traveled throughout the United States including Alaska and Hawaii. A highlight of his travels was going to Germany and Austria to attend the Passion Play in Oberammergau. In 1997 he traveled to New Mexico for the Albuquerque International Balloon Festival and was overjoyed to take a ride in a hot air balloon over the city.

Dave is survived by Edith, his wife of 62 years; a sister-in-law Ethel Pasch, nephews David and his wife Aurea Poppy, Scott and his wife Mary Pasch, Doug Krueger and other nieces and nephews.

Dave is preceded in death by his brothers Raymond and Carl Krueger, his sister Dorothy Jean Poppy, brothers-in-law Malon Poppy, James Pasch and John Korb, sisters-in-laws Carrie Krueger, Margaret Krueger and Jacqueline Korb.

Special thanks to Ashley and Karissa from Compassus - Club Gabriel at St. Paul Elder Services Kaukauna. Dave really enjoyed his time there.

God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The funeral service for David will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 601 E. Glendale Avenue in Appleton, with Rev. Aaron Rosenau officiating.  Dave will be placed at rest at Highland Memorial Park.  Visitation will take place at the church the morning of the funeral from 10:00 AM until the hour of the funeral.
