David Carden Greene, 87, passed from this earth on September 20, 2024, to join his loving wife Judy Trino Greene in heaven, with his loving daughter Judilynn by his side. Dave was born September 29, 1936 in Rome, NY the son of David and Irene (Courtney) Greene.
Dave became a proud graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University in 1965. He attended college during the day and worked nights in the mill, supporting three children and his loving wife, Judy. Dave enjoyed his career as a manufacturing director working for General Electric, Control Data, Exxon Office Systems (QYX), Unisys and Moberg Medical. The greater part of his life was spent in Chester County, PA.
After Judy's death in 2018, Dave moved to Amelia Island; enjoyed spending time and making memories with his brother-in-law Joe and wife Mary. In 2019, Dave moved to Wisconsin to be closer to his daughter Judilynn. He dove right into Wisconsin life; volunteering for the Outagamie Democratic Party (was scheduled for the phone bank on the eve of his death), donating to Loaves and Fishes, playing golf, and making new friends at Ridgeview Highlands.
Everything Wisconsin made him happy including Jim's brandy old fashioneds, meals at the Palisades, men's senior golf at Reid (proud of his 1st hole in one on #6), Appleton’s Pride Parade, pontoon rides, blue skies, lakes and waterways, Chester and Chipper barking to greet him, sunshine, WI outings, the Friday fish fry group, and his special friend Judy Hocking. Dave was a student of history and trivia king, duck carver, painter, kind, positive, social, an avid reader and strong believer in our public libraries.
David is survived by his children Judilynn (Jim) McDermott, Mariterese (Pat) Balthrop, David (Colleen) Greene; grandchildren Matthew McDermott, Jamie McDermott, Breanne (Zack) Terakedis, Greg (Karla Navarro) McDermott, Natalie Balthrop, Elizabeth Balthrop, Patrick Balthrop, David Greene and Patrick Greene; great grandchildren Zoë, Valentina, James, Madison, Alexandra and baby Celine. He is also survived by numerous Trino and Greene family members, whom he cherished.
David is preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy Trino Greene, his parents, sister Celine (James) Rank, brother Charles Greene and grandson Carden John McDermott.
A private Celebration of Life is planned for October 6, 2024. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in David’s memory to the Appleton Public Library. He lived a good long life, was so loved and will be immensely missed by many.
The family would like to thank the EMT’s, Fire Department, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center Staff in Appleton and Cherry Meadows Hospice Team for their dignified, compassionate and loving care in Dad’s final days.
