       Age 56, passed away on Saturday evening, April 26, 2003  at Appleton Medical Center.  He was born on January 14, 1947 in Appleton  the son of the late Francis and Martha (Ryba) Vaughan.  He graduated from University of Wisconsin-Stout with a bachelors degree in education.  He taught machine tool courses at Fox Valley Technical College. He volunteered 865 hours with the HOSTS  Mentoring Program (Helping One Student to Succeed)  a math mentoring program. He also volunteered time to tutoring outside ofn the HOSTS program.  David also enjoyed fishing, gardening, inventing, writing, and spending time with his dog Alice.  David had many loves, but his children was his greatest.
        He is survived by his son James (Julie) Vaughan and their daughter Ashley of Appleton, his daughter Sarah (Phillip) Schmitt and their daughter Josephine of Green Bay, three sisters: Kathy (Charles) Hartzheim of Fremont, Wisconsin, Karen Vaughan of Appleton, Linda Vaughan of Hortonville, and numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be deeply missed by many.
       A memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, May 1, 2003 at 11:00 AM  at the Wichmann Funeral Home with Deacon Pete Reinl officiating.  Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  A memorial fund is being established.
