David C. Yentzer, Jr.
Age 55, of Appleton, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008, at his home.
Dave was born March 16, 1953, in Pierre, S.D., to LaVerta Anderson, Glendale, Ariz., and the late David C. Yentzer, Sr. He grew up in Sycamore, Ill., and was a graduate of Sycamore High School. He continued his education at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, and received his Master's Degree in orientation and mobility for the blind at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. In 1988 he was named “An Outstanding Student in America” for his academic achievement and overcoming the obstacles that he faced. His vocation was teaching and helping students adjust to living with blindness. He had a big heart and was a very patient man. Dave taught in the Appleton, WI School District and across the region.
David is survived by his mother, LaVerta; two brothers, Daniel Yentzer and Douglas Yentzer, Glendale, Ariz.; his good friends and neighbors, Bob and Kathy Rank, Appleton and all the friends he was blessed with. He was preceded in death by his father, David, Sr., two years ago.
Private family services will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in Dave's name to the Juvenile Diabetes Research

Dave's sense of humor and smile will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
