Darrell J. Voeks

Darrell Jay Voeks passed away peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice with Rachel and Cindy by his side on November 1, 2026 after suffering several strokes. He was born on October 24, 1948 to the late Rhinold and Alice (Krueger) Voeks.

Darrell was known to have farming in his blood and worked for several farmers around the state after the home farm was sold. More recently, he worked for Cut and Care mowing lawns and shoveling snow. He kept busy raising chickens, ducks, and pigs throughout the years.

Darrell enjoyed going to the local stock car races and tractor pulls. He participated in both in his younger years, much to his father's chagrin.

His other interests included watching NASCAR races and Packers games. His favorite hobby was definitely running his hound dogs on a crisp Fall night in search of raccoons, even dragging Rachel along on school nights. He also joined in coyote hunts around the area with the guys.

Darrell is survived by his daughter, Rachel and her wife, Cindy; sisters, Helen Johnson and Lois Springstroh; brother-in-law, Bill Schroeder; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Darrell was preceded in death by former wife, Jeannine Voeks (Busch); son, Mike; sister, Dorothy Schimmelpfenning and twin sister, Darlene Schroeder; brothers-in-law, Gene Johnson and Roger Springstroh; and nephews, David Schroeder, Kevin Johnson, Jeff Springstroh, and Terry Johnson.

A celebration of life will be held from 3 PM to 7 PM on December 7, 2026 at Leap In Bar, N4114 County Rd E, Freedom, WI 54130.

Time to rest; we’ll keep the mugs frosty until we meet again.
