Dale Maxam, 79, passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2024, with his loving partner, Mary, at his side.
Dale grew up in Freedom, going to school in a one room school house. He graduated from Freedom High School, at which point he entered the workforce at Appleton Papers, retiring in 2002. "McGyver" as he was lovingly called, could fix almost anything. His love of old cars and trucks was obvious to all, and he was always willing to fix anyone's vehicle, even if it was a Ford! He passed his love of the outdoors to his family and was a true outdoorsman: hunting, fishing, and camping- he loved them all!
Dale is survived by his loving partner, Mary Clements, children Mike (Cindy) Maxam, Traci (George) Brown, Pat Maxam, Joel (Nicole) Maxam; grandchildren Nick (Lindsay) Maxam, Alex (Jo Garrison) Maxam, Gabrielle Brown, Sarah Maxam, Emily Maxam, Clay Maxam and Nolan Maxam; sisters Jan Hanson, Joyce Berg, Judy Peterson, Connie (Bill) Morgando; brother-in-law Bob Schnabl and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Helen (Habeck) Maxam, sister Donna Schnabl, brother Dennis Maxam, and brothers-in-law John Hanson and Dan Berg.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Moment's Hospice for their incredible care, especially Nikki and Emily, who helped us on this journey.
