Graves, Dale D.
Dale Douglas Graves, age 82, passed away on Saturday, May 15, 2010. He was born on June 24, 1927, the son of the late Charles and Stella (Zemba) Graves. Dale entered the United States Navy after graduating high school. He served his country honorably during World War II on the U.S.S. Franklin Roosevelt. Dale married his loving wife, of 60 years, Margaret Schultz. He worked for Gladfelter (originally Bergstrom Papers) for 38 years as a pipefitter until his retirement. Dale was a talented woodworker. He created many carvings over the years including the chili pepper carvings for crayons which can be seen at Chili's Restaurant in Appleton.
Dale will be sadly missed by his wife, Margaret Graves of Hortonville; children: Dale R. Graves Jr. of Menasha, Darrell (Belinda Hale-Graves) Graves of Hortonville, Jeff (Lynn) Graves of Black Creek, Sandra Reddock of Neenah; grandchildren: Haley, Jennifer, Douglas and Paula Graves, Stacey Falk and numerous great-grandchildren; brothers: Donald (Barb) Graves and John Graves.
Funeral Services for Dale will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2010 at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME with the Rev. James Wiebel officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Dale's name.
