Cindy Love, 71, went home to the presence of her Savior, Jesus, on July 9, 2026. Her life on earth was cut short suddenly with a hemorrhage in her brain.

Having been born to Lavern and Beth Hansen, Cindy grew up in Wautoma, Wisconsin. After high school she attended the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh, to study nursing and became a registered nurse.

Cindy enjoyed the challenges that nursing gave her, being able to use her brain and her heart in helping people. She began at a hospital in Stevens Point, and then moved to Appleton, where she worked at Appleton Memorial Hospital (now Thedacare), and later the First Care Clinic, then the Guardian Insurance Company, and finally with Nurse Direct where she did telephone triage. She really treasured the many friends she worked with at all of those places.

In 1979, she dedicated her life to Jesus Christ, and her life as she then knew it began a journey of many changes.

Three months later, Cindy traveled to Israel with a few others in the church she had joined. On that trip she met Marty Love, who became her husband the following year. The year after that, they began having children, who appeared thereafter at fairly regular two-year intervals, ending up with six.

She had varied interests and tastes, and she excelled at whatever she put her mind to. She liked walking, knitting, quilting, sewing, and traveling (or thinking about traveling). She hoped to go to Denmark to see where her grandfather came from, but didn’t get the chance. Her favorite place to travel was the Outer Banks of North Carolina.

She also liked flowers, birds, dogs, cats, poetry, music, tent camping, nature, ice cream, and British mystery shows.

In her final ten years, she loved being a part of Emmaus Road Church. She became involved in the women’s ministry, leading Bible studies, and being an encourager with her wisdom and somewhat random sense of humor.

Her greatest loves were her God and her family. Whatever of the many things she did and did well, these came first. She loved spending time with the grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two older sisters, Carol Jean and Peggy; and her daughter, Joanna.

She leaves behind her husband, Marty; their children, Abby (Ron) Poppie, Dan (Heidi) Love, David (Erin) Love, Lydia (Micah) Marshall, Hannah Love, and Joanna’s surviving husband, Isral (Diana) DeBruin. There are also seven grandchildren, Jillian, Evelyn, Charlotte, Westley, Ginny, Ara, and Lincoln; seven step-grandchildren, Greta, Liam, Jack, Boaz, Baraq, Binyamin, and Yael; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A funeral visitation will be held for Cindy from 9-11 AM on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at Valley Baptist Church, 3600 Chippewa St, Appleton, WI 54911 with a funeral service to follow at 11 AM. Cindy will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Appleton, WI. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
