Age 76, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at his home after a courageous battle with Liver Cancer. He was born on July 18, 1932 in Menasha, son of the late John and Julie “Stella” (Schultz) Kryszak. He graduated from St. Mary's in Menasha in 1950 and went off to the Navy where he proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. After his time in the Navy, Curt came home to attend Accounting School in Appleton at Fox Valley Business School, now Fox Valley Technical College. After his first marriage which blessed Curt with four children, he married Charmaine Obermeier on November 12, 1988. Curt was a hardworking man, and after retirement he took on another job driving school bus for Kobussen, and continued doing so until just recently. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Harvey Pierre VFW Post 2778, and was an active member and an usher at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Appleton. He was an avid Packer fan who attended the Ice Bowl, loved golfing and time spent with his beloved children and grandchildren.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 20 years: Charmaine; his children: Paul (Carrie) Kryszak, Black Creek, Mary Malek, Santa Rosa, CA, Jean (Keith) Krause, Neenah, John Kryszak, Menasha; step-son: Gregory (Sue) Obermeier, Appleton; 6 grandchildren: Kevin (Challa) Kryszak, Kristin Kryszak, Melissa (Chad) Kazel, Michael Malek, Amanda (Scott) Lathrop, Cassandra Howe; step-grandchildren: Jessica (Forest) McKenzie, Rachael, Angela, and Alicia Obermeier; 2 great grandchildren: Keenan Kryszak and Carter Kazel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son; his infant brother John Jr., and his step-grandson, Michael Obermeier.

Funeral Liturgy for Curt will be held on Monday, April 6, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Bernard Catholic Church (1617 West Pine Street) with Father Dennis Ryan officiating. Friends will be received directly at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the Mass. Interment with full Military Honors will take place on Monday at 1:30 P.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name. The family wishes to thank the staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, and a very special thank you to Gerry and Dolores Schaffer.
