Colleen “Cocoa” Ann Schneider, 69, of Appleton, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on April 25th, 2024 with family by her side. She was born in Appleton on March 21st, 1955 to Harold and Bernette (Spoerl) Hurley. She spent most of her life in the Appleton area and graduated from Xavier High School in 1973. Most of her working years were spent at various paper mills in the valley, where she had great memories and developed wonderful friendships.

Colleen loved to spend time with her family and watch her grandchildren’s various events, especially basketball games. She will always be remembered for her strong-willed and passionate personality, along with her joy of playing games. Those that knew her best will always recall her favorite phrase, “let go, let God”.

Colleen is survived by her three children, Joseph (Brenda) Schneider, Angela (Joseph) Doll, and Christopher (Laura) Schneider. Grandchildren Amanda Thoe, Lexie and Joey Schneider, Owen and Ava Doll, Maverick, Tristan, and Archer Schneider. Siblings Timothy (Connie) Hurley and twin sister Maureen (Stephen) Krueger. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Colleen was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Christine Hurley, Diane Christison, and Margaret Schroeder.

A visitation for Cocoa will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior Street in Appleton, on May 28, 2024 from 11:30 am until time of service at 1:00 pm with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

The family would like to thank her long-time friend Robert Card for his unwavering friendship and loyal support the past 23 years.
