Gruentzel, Clarence F.
Clarence Frank Gruentzel, age 91, passed away on October 9, 2010. He was born in Manitowoc on May 4, 1918, the son of the late Urban and Ella (Post) Gruentzel. Clarence married his wife, Naida Clark in 1968 in Michigan. She preceded him in death in 1997. Clarence loved fishing as a favorite pastime. He and his wife, Naida, enjoyed traveling and shared many wonderful trips and tours together. Clarence enjoyed going to the casino and looked forward to it every week. Clarence also honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 8 years. He was at Pearl Harbor the day it was attacked! We were very lucky to have him.
Clarence is survived by his step-children: Patricia Arnoldussen of Appleton, Gloria (Joe) Serpa of California; James Lockery of New York; step-granddaughters: Cindy Salvador of Appleton, Charlene Westby of Oregon; step-great-grandchildren: Laura Verhagen, Kali Salvador, Ben Salvador; sister, Myrtle Hahn of Black Creek and many nieces and nephews. Clarence is preceded in death by his brothers: Charles and Sam Gruentzel; brother-in-law, Howie Hahn and nephew, Dan Hahn.
Funeral Services for Clarence will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the Wichmann Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Albrecht officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
