Cindy “Keenie” Kirkeide Wierichs, age 56, of Menasha, died Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at her home. Cindy was born on November 8, 1956, in Appleton, to Roger and Geraldine Kirkeide. After graduating from Appleton West High School, she received her nursing degree and went on to become a Neonatal Nurse Clinician. Cindy worked for many years at Theda Clark in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and was very proud of the time she spent working on the transport team.
Cindy had a lifelong love of animals, especially cats. She was a stockholder in the Green Bay Packers and was always dressed to the nines in her Packer gear on game day. She volunteered at the Heckrodt Wetland Reserve, where she tended to her own special patch of garden. In the past few weeks she spent many hours with our Dad, who is recovering from surgery, bringing him comfort as they spent time together.
Cindy is survived by her parents, Roger and Geraldine; her sisters, Sue (Rick) Rosenthal, Karen (Paul) Ziemer and Jane (Terry Gross) Kirkeide; and her brother, John (Jennifer) Kirkeide. She is further survived by her former husband, Lou Wierichs, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, 537 N.
Superior Street, Appleton, with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Saturday, November 9th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com
