Age 82, died Monday, April 16, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital after a long illness. He was born June 22, 1918 to the late Dr. Judson and Jeanne (Carlsen) Meyers in Superior, Wisconsin. Chester married the former Dorothy Ann Anderson on August 28, 1948 at First Lutheran Church in Grantsburg, Wisconsin. Chester was a graduate of Carleton College and the Chicago Medical School. His internship and one year residency was served at Augustana Hospital in Chicago and his second year was served at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Chester then joined the U. S. Navy Medical Corp. from 1955 until his honorable discharge in 1957. He was a general practitioner in Appleton in 1957 until his retirement in 1988. Chester served on the medical staffs at Appleton Medical Center and St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was also a member of the Outagamie Medical Society, the Wisconsin Medical Society and the AMA. Chester and his wife, Dorothy, were members of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Dorothy; his daughter, Lucia (Richard) Peck; his son, Judson (Cindy) Meyers; his five grandchildren, Eric and Brian Peck and Nicole, Judson and Carl Meyers, his brother Dr. Bruce (Ann) Meyers; his brother in law, Bernhard LeVander; sister in law, Pia Anderson and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter, Elizabeth Peck and a brother, Judson Meyers.

A Private Family Memorial Service has been held and interment will be at the family plot in Grantsburg, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Parkinson’s Association or the Salvation Army.
