Cheryl Lynn Tyson, 51, of Kimberly, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a courageous battle with cancer on August 12, 2024.
Cheryl was born on May 12, 1973, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Francis III and Sharon (Rohde) Tyson.
Cheryl attended school in Kenosha, Manawa and then high school in Andrews, North Carolina. She received her associate degree from Tri-County College in Murphy, North Carolina.
Cheryl cherished her two boys, Joshua and Cory, and was an adoring grandmother to their boys Xavier and Cornelius. She was cherished by her nieces and nephews as well and they enjoyed indulging her “foodie” nature and took her out to eat as often as they could. They also enjoyed playing card games and board games together regularly.
Cheryl loved to travel, especially returning to Florida and taking cruises. She also had a great passion for the performing arts. The Phantom of the Opera was her favorite, but she often attended events locally at the Thompson Center and the Performing Arts Center.
Cheryl is survived by her children Cory Tyson and Joshua (Emily Williams) Tyson, grandsons Cornelius Tyson and Xavier Tyson, her father Francis C. Tyson III, brother ret. Lt. Col. Francis (Jennifer) Tyson IV, sister Christine Tyson, nieces and nephews MSgt. Dylan (Rachel) Tyson, Seth (Tori) Dreger, Mason (Maura) Dreger, Olivia (Morgan Wyngaard fiancé) Dreger, Aidan Dreger, Lauren Dreger, and Elizabeth Dreger, Isabella Tyson and Jonah Tyson.
She was preceded in death by her mother Sharon Tyson.
A time of visitation concluding with a brief prayer service will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Wichmann Jansen Fargo Funeral Home (204 E. Kimberly Ave., Kimberly, WI 54136). The funeral liturgy will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, WI 54136) at 11:00 am. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service. Cheryl will be interred at Holy Name Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Sherwood Lions Club.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to ThedaCare Hospice, ThedaCare Regional Medical Center (Neenah) 5th floor staff, Cherry Meadows and Appleton Cancer Center for their kind and compassionate care.
