Charmis E. Ott

January 10, 1943 — December 17, 2021

Charmis Emily Ott (née Nelson) was called home to the Lord on December 17th, 2021 with family at her side.

Charmis was born to parents Chester and Hannah Nelson on January 10th, 1943 in Marinette, Wisconsin.

On January 5th, 1963, Charmis was joined in marriage to Robert Ott.  They were wed in Menominee, Michigan at Trinity Lutheran Church. Together, they raised a daughter and three sons.

Charmis earned the reputation of a prayer warrior.  She prayed daily for family, friends, and countless others.  She was unwavering in her devotion; regardless of need or circumstance, prayer came first.  She prayed freely and with a deep love for others, to include both family and strangers.  Regardless of situation, there was always one constant, Charmis was praying.

Charmis was active in her home church.  She greeted for services, tended to the nursery, cleaned and decorated the church, but most importantly made people feel welcomed and loved.

Charmis loved to sew, specializing in stockings and blankets that were given as keepsakes.  Consistent with her devotion to prayer, the person receiving the gift would be prayed for as the item was completed.  Charmis nourished others not only with prayer, but also with food, spending hours making favorites for each and every family event.

She is preceded in death by her father, mother, sisters Yolanda Haban (née Nelson) and JoAnn Nelson, step-granddaughter Kristen Rockman and other family members.

She is survived by her loving husband Robert Ott, children Stephanie Rockman (née Ott), Rodney Ott (Kelley), Chris Ott (Brenda) and Kyle Ott. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and five great-children.

In our profound sense of loss, we take comfort knowing that she is in Heaven and we will be reunited.  We are unified in belief of the message she would want communicated, God loves you and is seeking a relationship with you through his Son, Jesus.

A celebration of life at a later date is intended pending circumstances as they develop.
