In the early morning of Tuesday June 23, 2026, the world became a little less bright by the passing of Charles “Chuck” Rucynski, Jr, 87 of Menasha, WI. He passed away peacefully with the love of his life, Sharon, by his side. Chuck was born May 22, 1939, in Oswego, NY to the late Charles and Hilda (Reifke) Rucynski.
On June 4th, 1960, Chuck married Sharon Craddock. They just celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary. Together they had three children and is survived by Kim (Russell) Hollander, Scott (Shannon Racette) Rucynski, Chad (Shannon) Rucynski. Chuck enjoyed his six grandchildren: Nicolas (Kattie Lee) Straw, Luke (Taylor Hammond) Straw, Stephanie (Jason) Maas, Matthew (Amanda) Rucynski, Samantha Rucynski, Ryne Rucynski. Chuck was blessed with four great grandchildren: Hudson. Samus, Colton and Ridge. He is also survived by a sister Queenie (Jim) Sands, two brothers Jack (Kathy) Rucynski, Joe (Mary) Rucynski and a sister-in-law Monica Craddock.
Chuck was employed by The George Banta Co. Midway Plant in Menasha for 39 years. He was in the United States Army Reserve for 20 years achieving the rank of First Seargent. He also spent several years behind the counter at Best Beverage mart in Menasha. Chuck and Sharon spent 20 years living in Mountain, WI following their retirement. They enjoyed “Up North” living and had many friends in the mountain area. Chuck enjoyed going out for Friday fish fry’s and rye whiskey and diet coke. Chuck enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities, whether it was sporting events, academic achievements or performing arts. He was always front and center providing support. Chuck loved country music and attended Country USA many times.
Chuck lived a life defined by hard work, quiet strength and deep devotion for those he cared about. He was the life of the party and was loved by all who knew him. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws Richard (Gertrude, Ellie) Craddock, brother Richard, sister Linda Lee, brother-in-law Craig Craddock and many friends.
A memorial service for Chuck will take place on Thursday July 2, 2026, at 4:00pm at Wichmann Funeral Home-Tri County Chapel, 1592 S Oneida St, Menasha. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 3:00pm until the service begins. Chuck will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
