Carol Borree, age 71, passed away peacefully at the Appleton Medical Center on Thursday, March 31, 2011. Carol had battled various forms of leukemia for thirteen years. She was born in Appleton on September 10, 1939, daughter of the late Raymond Loderbauer and Naomi (Fahrbach) Loderbauer who currently lives in Kimberly. Carol was a 1957 graduate of the Kaukauna High School, and on October 8, 1959 married Kenneth Borree; he survives. As a young woman, Carol worked at Marathon Corporation and Hartjes Electric, but most of her working life was spent as a computer operator for AAL / Thrivent Financial. She retired when she was sixty. Carol was a faithful and active member of Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church, enjoyed needlework and crafting, producing and sharing the harvest from her large garden, baking, and doting on her beloved grandchildren. Carol was also proud of her collection of Faberge eggs.
She is survived by her husband: Ken Borree of Kaukauna; a son: Dan (Gina) Borree of Appleton and their children Halle and Jacob; her mother: Naomi Loderbauer of Kimberly; as well as by brothers and sisters-in-law: David Borree of Kaukauna; Lois (Melvin) Lendt of Sleepy Eye, Minnesota; Sharon (Roger) Steinberg of New London; Darold (Cheryl) Borree of Milwaukee; Betty (John) Pogrant of Kaukauna; as well as many nieces and nephews. Carol was preceded in death by her father, Ken's parents: Walter and Caroline Borree; a sister-in-law: Sharon Borree; a niece: Jennifer Pogrant; and a nephew: Jason Pogrant.
The Christian Funeral for Carol will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 804 Grignon Street in Kaukauna, with Rev. Karl Schultz officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again Tuesday at the church after 10:00 AM. A memorial fund in her memory is being established.
The family would like thank the many caregivers that showed so much love for Carol. They include Dr. Bar-Lev and his staff, everyone on the Oncology Unit at AMC, and everyone at the Siekman Cancer Center. We will never forget your kindness.
