Carol L. Spranger

Carol Louise Spranger, age 90 of Appleton, WI passed away on October 3, 2022.  She was born to Clarence and Viola (Conradt) Spranger in Navarino, WI on December 24, 1931.  She graduated from high school in 1949 and went on to become an administrative assistant for the Outagamie County Register of Deeds.  She later went on to become a certified nursing assistant for St. Elizabeth’s on the birthing unit – a job she was truly passionate about. 

Carol was truly a kind woman, devoting her life to caring for others unconditionally.  She enjoyed walking, keeping her house tidy inside and out, and just generally being outside and soaking in nature’s beauty.  Carol absolutely loved watching the Packers, often rearranging her schedule to make sure she had time to watch every game.  She was a devoted Christian as well.  Even when she couldn’t go to church anymore, she always appreciated visits from her Pastors and she joyfully nurtured and shared her faith with her beloved family. 

Carol is preceded in death by her parents; and her brothers, Eugene (Betty) Spranger, Myron (Helen) Spranger, and Donald Spranger. 

Carol is survived by her sister, Shirley Salerno; her sister-in-law Reiko Spranger; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives. 

A visitation will be held for Carol from 9-11 AM Friday, October 7 at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St, Appleton, WI 54911 with a funeral service led by Pastor Timothy Wagner at 11 AM.  The service will be livestreamed – please click the link below to view the service.  Carol will be laid to rest following the service at Ascension Lutheran Cemetery in Navarino, WI.  In lieu of flowers, Carol wished that any donations please be made to Riverview Lutheran Church in Appleton, WI.
