Carol Mary Plank (Schueler)

August 20, 1939 — June 16, 2021

Carol Plank passed away peacefully in her sleep Wednesday June 16, 2021 after battling pancreatic cancer for over two years.  Carol was born August 20, 1939 in Menasha WI. to the late Jack and Martina (Wolf)  Schueler.  Carol graduated from St. Mary’s High school in Menasha in 1957.  She was employed by Kimberly Clark Corporation for several years until  she was married to Bill Plank in Appleton WI in 1961.  Bill and Carol made Appleton their home and enjoyed 43 years of marriage  before Bill passed in 2004.

Carol was a great homemaker and wonderful and supportive mother.  She enjoyed volunteering at her children’s schools, St. Bernard’s Parish and other organizations in various rolls over the years.  Carol was happiest when spending time with her husband Bill and her friends.  A day long shopping trip, a weekend snow skiing, a party on the boat, or a long nap on the couch was the best way to make Carol smile.  She really enjoyed any opportunity to travel and she and Bill were fortunate to visit many states and countries. Later in years, Carol and Bill would jump in the Van for a couple weeks and travel the USA seeing the sights and visiting family and friends.  Those who knew Carol remember her enthusiasm for a fancy dinner party or a Saturday night on the town!

Carol is survived by her children; Joe (Cheree) Plank, Dave (Kathleen), Plank and Jill Plank.  Grandchildren Andy Plank (fiancée Emma Schremp) Nashville and Katie Plank Chicago. A brother Bob (Rita) Schueler, nephew Dr. Stephen Schueler and niece Dr. Paula Schueler.  Carol was preceeded in death by her parents, her sister and her husband.  A celebration of Carol’s life will be held this summer.  In lieu of flowers feel free to make donations to a charity of your choice.
