Carol Jean Breyer, age 89, Appleton, WI, died Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, at St. Paul Elder Services, Kaukauna, WI. She was born July 1st, 1936, in Antigo, WI, the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva Avis Wolf.

Carol will be remembered for many things. She had a love of cooking and baking cookies, never an empty cookie jar. There was always a chair at the table for everyone, all were welcomed and then they became a part of the family. She was a lover of pets, rescuing and adopting many. She served others the best that she could and instilled that in not only her children but many others. From handmade quilts, cooking, taking care of others, she lived life exactly the way she wanted. She lived a full life and we will miss her.

On August 21st, 1954, Carol was united in marriage to William Breyer of Birnamwood, WI. He preceded her in death on December 20th, 2019.

Survivors include her four children, Cindy (Don) Jenneman of Appleton, Peggy Schmitz of Birnamwood, Jay (Molly) Breyer of Hortonville and Scott (Ann) Breyer of Kimberly; 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren…her 11th great-grandchild due in October. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons-in-laws, Ross Meagher and Kurt Schmitz, and granddaughter Amy Ann Breyer.

Visitation will be held at Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, WI. On May 20th, 2026. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. with a family reflection at 7 p.m.

As per Carol’s wishes, she will join dad at his memorial on a later date.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
