Carlie Koepke, age 81, passed away at his home on Friday, August 7, 2009. Carlton was born in Appleton on March 5, 1928, son of the late William and Ottilie (Wirth) Koepke. For over twenty years, he was a faithful volunteer for St. Joseph's Food Pantry and will by missed by his many friends there. He is also survived by two sisters: Louise Schroeder of Milwaukee and Marguerite Laehn of Appleton; six nieces and a nephew: Charlene (Howard) Ridgeway of Appleton; Noreen (Henry) Boselie of Appleton; Patricia (Myron) Splitgerber of Leesburg, Florida; Kenneth (Blanche) Schroeder of Millersville, Maryland; Margaret Schroeder of Milwaukee; and Meredith Koepke of Oshkosh. Carlie was preceded in death by his parents, a brother William (Audrey) Koepke, Jr., and brothers-in-law Harry Schroeder and Walter Laehn.
The Christian Funeral for Carlton will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at RIVERVIEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 136 W. Seymour Street in Appleton, with Rev. Dennis W. Belter officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until the hour of the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Riverview Ev. Lutheran Church.
