Carlier John Lauer

John Lauer, age 48, passed away at his home on Monday morning, December 5, 2011, following an illness. John was born in Madison on October 28, 1963, son of Carlier and Judith (Stratton) Lauer. He was a graduate of the Bishop Noll High School in Hammond, Indiana, as well as Phoenix University. He was a wonderful computer programmer, and for several years operated Fox River Software, here in Appleton. Most recently he was employed by Marshfield Clinic.

John is survived by his mother: Judy (Wayne) Bruce of Minaki, Ontario; his father: Carlier (Joan Robertson) Lauer of California; three children at home: Adriana, Aaron, and Caitlin; and a brother: Eric (Laura) Lauer of Illinois and their children: Brandon, Jacob, and Trace.

A memorial service for John will be held at 4:00 PM on Friday, December 9, 2011 at the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Mark Klaisner of St. James United Methodist Church officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives and the funeral home on Friday afternoon from 3:00 PM until the hour of the service. The family is establishing a memorial fund for the American Cancer Society.
