Carl G.
Kosiorek
June 25, 1938 – February 26, 2026
Carl “Croaky” Kosiorek, age 87, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 26, 2026.
Born on June 25, 1938, in Menasha, Wisconsin, Carl lived a life defined by hard work, quiet strength, and deep devotion to his family. He spent 43 years building a career he could be proud of, working for Marathon Corp., American Can Corp., James River Corp., Fort James, and retiring from Georgia-Pacific Corporation.
Carl is survived by his brother, Walter Kosiorek; sister in laws; Kay Van De Weghe , Donna (Rod) Eckes, Sandy Arneson, and brother in law David (Sue) Schroeder.
His loving children, Kelly (David) Romnek, Kim (Steve) Hanson, and Jeff (Melissa) Kosiorek; his cherished grandchildren: Joshua (Amanda) Gischia, Drew (Bri) Romnek, Luke (Paige) Romnek, Ben (Hailey) Romnek, & Summer (Anthony) Current. Great grandchildren; Lucas Current, and a baby granddaughter Romnek, soon to arrive.
He also leaves behind dear relatives and friends who will carry his memory forward.
He was welcomed into eternal life by the love of his life Patricia "Judy" Kosiorek, his parents, Alexandria and Marion Kosiorek; his brothers, Joseph, Ben, and Junior Kosiorek; and his sisters, Helen Solis, Marcie Heimann, and Ann Zimmer.
In his younger years, Carl was a standout athlete, earning numerous trophies and medals during his CYO basketball career, including an MVP honor—a reflection of both his talent and determination.
Carl found his greatest joy in life’s simple pleasures. Whether casting a line at the Menasha Dam, Jefferson Park, in Wild Rose, or at one of his many well-kept “secret” fishing spots, he was happiest near the water. He created a lifetime of memories through camping trips and days at the cottage—filled with crackling bonfires, unforgettable ghost stories, and laughter that echoed late into the night. Around the table, a game of cribbage was never just a game—it was a lesson, a competition, and usually a sure win for him. With a Manhattan in hand and family by his side, those were the moments he treasured most.
Above all, Carl was the heart of his family. A devoted husband, a steady and guiding father, a proud grandfather, and a loving great-grandfather—he was a constant source of strength, wisdom, and unconditional love. He taught us not only how to live, but how to live well—with kindness, patience, humility, and integrity.
Our family extends our deepest gratitude to the staff at Country Villa for the incredible care they provided to both Mom and Dad over the past three years. We are also incredibly thankful for the Moments Hospice team, especially Cara and Stacey, whose kindness and compassion meant so much during this time.
A memorial service will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 601 E. Glendale Ave., Appleton—where Carl was confirmed and married in 1960—on March 14 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until the time of service.
Dad…
You were our anchor, our teacher, and our safe place.
You will forever live in our hearts, in our stories, and in the quiet moments we feel you near.
Love you, Dad. Love you, Bumpa—DON’T FORGET TO WRITE.
