Carl H. Baumann, age 94, of Appleton, entered his Heavenly Home peacefully on Sunday, July 29, 2012. Carl was born on October 11, 1917, in Appleton, to the late Henry and Elizabeth (Lawall) Baumann. He was a farmer all his life, showing his special love for God's creation. Carl nurtured his family by sharing his deep faith in God, the fruits of his garden, the self-sacrificing for his family and his generosity in helping others. He married Eileen Andresen on June 6, 1946, in Oshkosh. Carl was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Eileen; his children, Sister Ann Carla; Carol (Kerry) Watson, Janet (Steven) Gallo, Maribeth Biba, Michael (Shirley) Baumann, John (Lani) Baumann and Peter (Toni) Baumann; his grandchildren, Sheila (Arnold) Cameron, Scott Baumann, Jerome Baumann, Matthew Baumann, Kristin Baumann, Emily Gallo, Rachel Gallo, Chelsea (Alex) Peeters, Carl Biba and Josh Biba; his great grandchildren, Andrew, Rebecca and David Cameron; his sisters, Marie Bushman and Betty (Russ) Burns; and his sisters-in-law, Jean Baumann, Marion Baumann and Clara Baumann. Carl is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary; his brothers, George, Joseph (Jeanette), Nicholas, Raymond (Virginia), Clem, Henry, Claire (Leona); and his sisters, Marie Therese, Gertrude (Emmett) Decker and Blanche (Dick) Strelka. Funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2012, at ST. THOMAS MORE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1810 North McDonald Street, Appleton, with Fr. James Lucas and Fr. Gerald Falk concelebrating the mass. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in his name. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation for the loving care and support shown to Carl and his family by the staffs of ThedaCare Hospice and Appleton Health Care Center.
