Brian James LaViolette, passed away on September 9, 2026. He was born on October 16, 1972, the son of James T. and Janelle (Hamous) LaViolette. He attended Appleton West High School and graduated in 1991. Following high school, Brian entered the US Marine Corp, and served from 1991-1995, mostly in New River Air Station, NC.

Brian worked at US Office Products and at Jack’s Pizza. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Appleton, where he was baptized and confirmed.

Brian was friendly, silly, was great at telling jokes and will be remembered for enjoying nature as a child. He enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities. Brian was an animal lover as well, and had many cat friends in his life. He is also remembered for giving the best bear hugs around.

Brian is survived by his parents, his sister Diane (Patrick) McGill, nephews: Jack and Connor McGill, aunts and uncles: Steven (Susan) LaViolette, Joann Stewart, Daniel LaViolette, Steven (Denise) Hamous cousins: Stephanie, Sarah, Jason, Laura, Luke, and Aaron. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: James R. and Doris LaViolette and Ronald and Frances Hamous.

A funeral service will take place at 1:00pm on Thursday September 24, 2026, at Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N Superior Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 12:00pm until the service begins. Brian will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park immediately following the service.
