Bonnie M. Thews

On Thursday, July 1, 2021, Bonita (Bonnie) Mary Thews passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home at the age of 80.  Bonnie was born in Little Chute, Wisconsin on October 9, 1940.  After graduating from New London High School in 1958, she went on to earn an Associate Degree and worked in purchasing at Kimberly Clark for 43 years.  Bonnie married Donald Thews at Emmaus Lutheran Church in the Town of Lind, Waupaca County, on January 13, 1961.

Bonnie’s dreams were to live on the lake, which she did for 29 years, and spend winters in Florida, which she was able to do for the last 19 years.  She loved hosting family events and spending time with her 7 grandkids.  Bonnie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.  She had an optimistic attitude that brightened the lives of her family and friends.  She cherished the worship and friendships made as a 5-decade member at Faith Lutheran Church.

Bonnie is survived by her husband, Don; children, Dan Thews and wife Kelly, Vicki DeLain and husband Ed, David Thews and wife Blythe; grandchildren Kylie, Kami, Jeremy, Carissa, Samantha, Cameron and Kendall; brother Daryl Hinkens, sisters-in-law Mary Hinkens and Ginny Hinkens, brother-in-law Duane Thews and sister-in-law Rita Thews; numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her siblings Beata Hahn and husband Dick, Romy Hinkens, Duane Hinkens and sister-in-law Barb Hinkens.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Faith Lutheran Church, located at 601 E. Glendale Avenue in Appleton, with Revs. Dan Thews and Aaron Rosenau officiating.  Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.  Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery in West Bloomfield following the service.
