Betty J. Mueller

July 16, 1947 — August 7, 2024

Appleton

Betty Jean Mueller (Fentz), age 77 of Appleton, WI, passed away after a brief illness on August 7, 2024. She was born to John and Florence (Hooyman) Fentz on July 16, 1947, in Appleton, WI. Betty married the love of her life, David “Dave” Mueller on July 27, 1968, and together, they raised 2 wonderful daughters. After graduating with a bachelor's degree from Michigan Technological University, she joined the Mueller family business, working as an office manager.

Betty was one of the friendliest people you will ever have met. She enjoyed supporting older family members who were aging and provided that same care for her father after he was diagnosed with a brain tumor in his early 50s. Anyone that knew her knew that she was stubborn – whether for her own reasons or pure persistence in being there for others. In her youth, she enjoyed every kind of skiing there was – water skiing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing… you name it! More recently, she enjoyed watching the grandkids swim/fish and spending time with family at the lake. You could often find her with her friends and family, shopping for good deals on fashionable clothes and home goods. More than anything else in the world, she loved her family (especially her grandkids!) and cherished every moment she could spend with them.

Betty will be deeply missed by her husband, Dave Mueller; her daughters, Heidi (Thomas Malinowski) Mueller and Heather (Peter) Christenson; her grandchildren, Hunter Malinowski, Hailey Christenson, Hayden Christenson, and Hudson Christenson; her niece, Lori (Greg) Schinke; as well as other extended relatives and dear friends.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, John and Florence Fentz; her brother, Robert (Karen) Fentz; and her nephew, Robert Fentz, Jr.

Betty will be laid to rest at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton, WI. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Camp AweSum or Camp Luther in honor of Betty.

Betty’s family would like to extend a special thanks to the medical team at ThedaCare Neenah ICU, Pastor Chad Starfeldt, and the many families and friends that have offered support and love.
