Betty Burroughs, age 88, died on March 27, 2026. She was born in Appleton, on June 8, 1937, the daughter of the late William and Evelyn (Rickert) Stadler. She attended St. Mary High School, Menasha, and the University of Wisconsin, in Oshkosh and Milwaukee, earning a Master of Library Science. Betty was a Reference Librarian at the Appleton Public Library until her retirement in 2014.

Betty is survived by her son: Kenneth Burroughs; daughters-in-law: Angela and Susan Burroughs; grandchildren: Lisa (Matt) Bourbonnais, Amy (Chris), Shelly (Tony), Heather (Matt), and Daniel (Dakota) Burroughs; 5 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sons: David and Robert; brothers: William and Karl Stadler; and a sister: Sally Griesbach.

Per Betty’s wishes, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
