Bernice Beyer, 90, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at Brewster Village. Bernice was born on November 21, 1920 in the town of Black Creek to Fred and Laura (Sedo) Krueger. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John's Church in Black Creek. On November 20, 1943 she married Lester Beyer in Black Creek and he preceded her in death in 1986 after 43 years of marriage. She joined Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton in 1948 and was very active in the church volunteering and cooking many meals. Bernice was a loyal member of the American Legion and the VFW.
Bernice is survived by her sisters-in-law; Ruth Krueger, Ellen (Arthur) Beyer, a nephew Tom (Mary Lynn) Krueger, and many other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother Kenneth Krueger, and a sister-in-law Ione Nieland.
The funeral for Bernice will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 6:00 PM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME with Rev Leon Knitt officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 PM until the time services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Highland Memorial Park.
