Bernadette "Bernie" Gaffney

Bernadette Mary (Dorn) Gaffney (Bernie), age 92 of Kimberly, born March 9, 1930 in Appleton, WI, entered into eternal life, March 9, 2022. She was peacefully surrounded by loved ones at the home of her daughter Colleen and husband, Dean Goodman. Bernie was the daughter of the late Mathias and Jannett (Carroll) Dorn. She married Jerome (Phat) Gaffney on June 27, 1950, at St. Therese Catholic Church, Appleton. Bernie spent her life dedicated to raising her children, caring for her home, and assisting in the family business. She was an incredible example of a woman and mother. Bernie was a lifelong member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Kimberly. She was a member of the Cross and Crown prayer group and prayed faithfully for friends, family and community. She cared deeply for her family, friends and neighbors and was always there for those who needed her.

One of the highlights of her faith life was her pilgrimage to Medjugorje, Bosnia/Herzegovina. Bernie enjoyed making delicious homemade meals for her family, quilting, knitting/crocheting and reading her Bible. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and will forever be cherished in the hearts of her loved ones.

Survivors include her children, Leah (Bruce) Peterson and their children, Michael, Andrew, Patrick and Laura; Joyce (John) Wolter and their children, Keri Anne and Chad; Patrick (Jean) Gaffney and their children, Ryan, Jason, Kelyn; Colleen (Dean) Goodman and their children, Mollie, Cassandra, Garret and Travis; and Jerry (Jana) Gaffney. She is also survived by 24 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is further survived by her brother Jerry (Melba) Dorn and Sister-in-laws Jonnie Dorn Schumaker and Gerty Gaffney, along with many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Jerome (Phat) Gaffney, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.

Funeral arrangements for Bernie will be held Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute, WI. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 4:00 p.m.
