Barbara Seehafer, age 63, passed away on October 15, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer for nine and a half years. Barb was born on July 19, 1950, and was a 1968 graduate of the Seymour High School. She wed Donald Hanson in 1973, and was later married to Peter Sebero.
Barb was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed sewing and crocheting for friends, and did many weddings. She also loved all children, and always volunteered to babysit. At Courtyard Apartments she planned and organized socials and parties for the residents – she loved planning the parties. Throughout her illness, she could be found cooking for others, doing puzzles, and planning events.
Barb is survived by her son: Eric (Lindsey) Hanson of Menasha; her mother: Marie A. Seehafer of Appleton; her grandchildren: Kelsey and Riley Hanson; a brother: Ben E. (Sandra) Seehafer of Shiocton; a sister: Betty (Dan) Splitt of Sun Prairie; three nieces: Lynn (Scott) Weatherwax of Clintonville, Michele (Cory) Susor of Greenville, and Kari (John) Speakman of Indianapolis; two nephews: Bryan (Heather) Seehafer of Shawano and Jon Splitt of Madison; as well as several great-nieces and great –nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Norman Seehafer of Black Creek.
A memorial service for Barb will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 21, 2013 at ST. BERNARD CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1617 W. Pine Street in Appleton, with Fr. Dennis M. Ryan officiating. Family and friends will gather directly at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the memorial service. Online condolences may be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
