Audrey Pire, age 95, passed away on August 31, 2026. Audrey was born in Little Chute, Wisconsin on January 4, 1931. She was the fourth of 9 children born to the late John and Delia Hermsen.
Audrey married the love of her life Bill Pire on July 21, 1951, in a double ceremony with her dear sister Joan who married Larry Milhaupt. Audrey and Bill shared many wonderful years together until he preceded her in death in 2013.
Audrey’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and many special friends. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and knitting. She and Bill loved to golf and play tennis.
Audrey was a longtime member of St Thomas More Catholic Church where she found great comfort in her faithful relationship with God.
Audrey is survived by her six children: Gary (Jill), Dan (Deb), Donna (Phil) Keagy, Cathy (Bill) Murphy, Mary Biggar, Sue (Scott) Garavet; grandchildren: Sara Breitbarth, Kristen Keagy Neyhard, Taylor Keagy Keesee, Travis Pire, Danielle Edinger, Ben Pire, Sam Murphy, Anne Murphy, Doug Biggar, Jacob Biggar, Ashley Tardieu, Chase Garavet; and 15 great grandchildren who were all so precious to her. In addition, she is survived by her sisters: Jeannie Hermus, Lori Staniak; her brother Don (Diane) Hermsen and sister-in-law Pat Hermsen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her son-in-law Greg Biggar; brothers and sisters: Reggie (Nancy) Hermsen, Gladys (Art) Schmidt, Lois (Tom) Knutsen, Roger Hermsen, Rudy Hermus, Joan (Larry) Milhaupt and brother-in-law Tom Staniak.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday September 8, 2026, at 11:00am, at St Thomas More Catholic Church 1810 N McDonald Street, Appleton. Friends and family may gather at the church from 9:00am until mass begins. Audrey will be laid to rest at St Joseph Cemtery, Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, please honor Audrey’s memory by honoring the faith and love that were so important to her. Offer a prayer for someone who is in need, reach out to someone who is lonely, offer kindness to someone with a random act or provide time or funds to the charity of your choice.
