Arlene A. Rollo (Kapitz), age 101 of Greenville, WI joined her heavenly kingdom on October 28, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Joseph and Julia (Cherney) Kapitz on July 19, 1922 in Denmark, WI. Arlene met the love of her life, Eldon Rollo on a double date at Bay Beach Amusement Park and they danced the night away. Shortly thereafter, they were married in January of 1943 and together, they raised 2 wonderful daughters.
Arlene was a spitfire woman with a great sense of humor. She loved cooking – especially baking – and dedicated much of her time to feeding her family. You could often find Arlene watching a Packer game with great dedication, enthusiasm, and sometimes frustration. More than anything, though, Arlene took great pride and joy in raising her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, whom she loved more than anything else in the world.
Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Cheryl (Dave) Dollar and Kay (Gary) Tobin; her grandchildren, Terry (Mark) Robertson, Deborah (Joel Rodiger) Fitzwater, Jennifer Tobin, Michelle (Nick) Vraney, Julie (Nick) Van Cuyk; her great-grandchildren, Alec, Emma, Cole, Macy, Chloe, Rio, Rex, Toby, Elle, and Lucy; her great-great-grandchildren, Lilly, Leo, Levi, and Brynlee; as well as many other extended relatives and dear friends.
Arlene is preceded in death by her husband, Eldon “Al” Rollo; and her best fur friend, Louis.
A memorial visitation will be held for Arlene on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 9:00-10:30 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St, Appleton, WI 54911 with a funeral liturgy to follow at 10:30 AM. Arlene will be buried next to her beloved husband in St. Mary Cemetery in Appleton at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Arlene’s name.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ThedaCare At Home Hospice team, the PRN nursing staff, and Arlene’s care team, especially Lisa Gunderson, APNP and Dr. Julie Abboud, MD for their outstanding care and compassion shown to Arlene and her family in their times of need. Your love is deeply appreciated.
Heaven’s Embrace
On Angel’s wings you were taken
But in my heart you’ll stay,
In God’s light you will find joy,
Till we met again someday.
