Ann R. Straus-Ness, age 52, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, August 16, 2010 after a long illness. She was born on December 18, 1957 in Grafton, WI, the daughter of Raymond and Alice (Wegner) Straus. Ann graduated from Grafton High School, and then graduated from Cardinal Stritch University in 1977 with a degree in Nursing. She worked as an ER nurse for 25 years, working 16 of those years at the Theda Clark Emergency Room. Ann married Charles Ness on September 25, 2009 in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Ann loved being outdoors, and especially enjoyed camping and fishing. She was also an avid cross country cyclist and skier. Ann is survived by her husband Charles, of Neenah; a brother, Larry (Pamela) Straus, of Florida; two nieces, Jennifer (Paul) Vander Zanden and their children, Justin, Kaleb, and Valorie, of Appleton, and Stacey (Tom) Nedland, of Appleton; and a nephew, Nathan (Michelle) Straus, of Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, August 22, 2010 from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the family's residence, 303 Division Street, Neenah.
