Age 87, passed away at her daughter Sharon’s house on Wednesday, June 29, 2005. She was born in Holland on October 18, 1917, daughter of the late Frank and Jacoba (Van Beek) Roovers. On April 4, 1946, she married John Baumann at Holy Name Church, Kimberly. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2003. Ann liked to do many things including: going out to eat, cooking and baking, reading novels, playing slots at the casino and taking care of her plants and flowers. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ann is survived by her children: Don (special friend Linda Liesch) of Bear Creek, Sharon (Jim) Van Roy of Appleton, Nancy (Ken) Krueger of Appleton, Steve (Shelley) Baumann of Appleton, and Jim Baumann of Kimberly; grandchildren: Kelly (Eric) Romenesko of Darboy, Todd (Julie) Baumann of Kaukauna, Ben (Sara) Baumann of Appleton, Joe Van Roy (fiancé Jessica Woller) of Appleton, John (Erin) Krueger of Neenah, Brenda Baumann, Cheryl Krueger, and Bret Baumann, all of Appleton; two great grandsons, Alex and Maxwell Baumann; three great granddaughters: Taylor Lynn Baumann, and Alexandria Grace and Allison Anna Romenesko; brothers: Tom (Doris) Roovers of Kimberly, Joe Roovers of Appleton, Frank (special friend, Shirley) Roovers, Marty (Phyllis) Roovers of Combined Locks; sister, Martha (Clarence) Hackel of Seymour; brothers-in-law: Silver and Harold Baumann; sisters-in-law: Phyllis Smits, Alice Romenesko and Sister Mary Florian; and very good friends: Jerry and Dorothy Rohan and Florence and George Malliet, all who were dance partners for many years. Ann is preceded in death by her husband John, her parents; son, Kenny Baumann in 2001; eight brothers and sisters; and six brothers and sisters-in-law.

The funeral liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, 2005, at Holy Spirit Parish, Kimberly Campus, 600 East Kimberly Avenue, Kimberly, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. The burial will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2005, at St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton.

The family extends a special thank you to Sharon and Andy Stumpf for being very dear and special neighbors that checked in on Mom almost daily.

Lord, I pray that whatever my family remembers of me – my temper, tears, mistakes – please let them also remember the laughter and my deep love for each of them.
