JENDE, ANITA C.

Anita Jende, 84, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at home. She was born on January 31, 1926 in Lodz, Poland, the daughter of the late Alfred and Olga (Wolff) Wende. On December 28, 1947 in Neukirchen, Germany, she married Karl Stephan “Steve” Jende. Together they founded and co-owned Northeast Photocopy Company Inc. in Appleton. Anita was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and frequent visitor of Christ the Rock Community Church. She also belonged to the D.A.N.K. (German-American Club). Anita enjoyed tennis, gardening, knitting, quilting, playing cards and the Packers.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years: Steve Jende, Appleton; children: Michael (Joellen Sleeter) Jende, White Bear Lake, Minnesota and Nora (fiancé Jeff Schulz) Holzwart, Darboy; grandsons: Karl and Stephan Jende and Connor Holzwart; and her brother: Harry Wende, Wesel, Germany. Anita is further survived by nieces, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Holzwart and her daughter-in-law, Kathryn Jende.

The funeral service for Anita will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, May 7, 2010 at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME TRI-COUNTY CHAPEL with Pastor Bill Lenz officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. A time of visitation and support will be held on Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name.
