Alvin W. Rauchholz, age 91, passed away April 30, 2026, in Green Bay. Alvin was born in Saginaw, MI to William and Margueritte (Schultz) Rauchholz. He grew up in Hemlock, MI and graduated from High School there as the class president. Alvin was in the Army from 1956 to 1958, during his time there he met Joyce Hodgdon and they were married on September 28, 1957. Following Al’s discharge from the Army, they moved back to the family farm in Hemlock, MI, in a house across from the dairy farm where they raised their three children.
Al worked for over 30 years at Dow Corning as a metallurgist. He was very proud of the patents he helped develop. While at Dow, Al took many work trips to Canada and Europe.
Al loved taking rides to look for deer and had a passion for old farm equipment and discussing agriculture. Al and Joyce enjoyed many travels together. Al’s last adventure brought him to Utah for his granddaughter’s wedding. He and his son Dean took the opportunity to visit the Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks. Al and Joyce also enjoyed minor league baseball when they lived in MI, and recently attending WI Timber Rattlers games with friends and family.
Al was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hemlock, MI since birth, and became a member at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in Menasha, WI for the last decade.
Al is survived by his children; Kevin (Patti) Rauchholz, Dean Rauchholz, and Mary (Jeff) Smith; grandchildren, Casey (Andrea), Dillon, Mitchell, and Jenna (Nick); and a great-grandson, Jackson. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, as well as other friends and family. He is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Rauchholz; his parents; brother, Frank (Alice); and Joyce’s parents.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, N 8728 S Coop Rd, Menasha. Friends and family may gather from 10:00 AM to the time of the service. He will be laid to rest in Hemlock, MI at a later date.
