Alice G. Runnoe

October 27, 1919 — July 19, 2008

Runnoe, Alice G.
Menasha

Age 88, passed away on July 19, 2008 at Theda Clark Regional Medical Center. Alice was born on October 27, 1919 in Cicero, Wisconsin to the late Albert and Clara (Reinke) Litzkow. On May 14, 1938 Alice married Raymond Brugger. Their children are Donna Styve, California, Sandra (Donald) Deering, Wisconsin Rapids, Sharon (Larry) Stadler, Milwaukee. Raymond passed away in 1944, as a result of a drowning accident. On February 24, 1949 Alice married Howard Runnoe. Their children are Dennis (Rosa) Runnoe, Utah, Gary (Chris) Runnoe, Fremont, Jeffrey Runnoe, Menasha, Debra (Gordon) Vollmer, Neenah, and Randy Runnoe, Menasha. Howard passed away on March 31, 1981.

Alice and her sister Loretta were singers in the 1930's with the Lawrence Duko Band. They were known as the Renfro Valley Twins. Mother and her two sisters, Dorothy Schomisch and Carol Peters were fortunate to live in close proximity and celebrated birthdays and other special family events for many years.

Alice loved to watch the many varieties of birds that came to her bird feeders. All eight of her children remember her “good cooking” and baking. We always left with food to take with us after one of her delicious meals. We appreciated never being “forgotten” with cards and presents on holidays and birthdays.

Alice was a member of St. John's Evangelical and Reformed Church in Black Creek as a girl, and was confirmed there, and then in Appleton as a young widow with three daughters and her mother Clara.

Alice's survivors include eight dearly loved grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her two loving husbands, she was preceded in death by her sisters: Violet Litzkow, Loretta Litzkow, and Dorothy Schomisch.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, July 27, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John United Church of Christ (1130 West Marquette Street) with Lee Vanden Heuvel officiating. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Theda Care at Home Hospice.

Alice's Family would like to extend our appreciation for the care our Mother received at Theda Clark Hospital and Theda Care At Home Hospice.
