Alice Andress, age 91, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Fox River Senior Living. She was born on April 12, 1921 in Algoma, Wisconsin, the daughter of the late John and Amanda Kirchman. Alice graduated from Algoma High School and the Green Bay Business College. During World War II, she worked in San Diego, where she met and married Robert Andress on January 9, 1946. After the war, they took up farming in Algoma, and in 1959 moved to Appleton. Alice enjoyed sewing, gardening, and dancing.
Alice is survived by her daughters: De (Dan) Dalum and Lynn (Tom) Rehfeldt, both of Appleton; granddaughters: Elizabeth Case of San Antonio, Texas and McKenzie (Mike) Vandenberg of Appleton; great granddaughter, Andrea Case; sister, Fern Kirchman of Algoma and sister-in-law, Joyce Kirchman of Algoma. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Andress; brothers, Kenneth and Richard Kirchman; and sisters, Mildred Rabas and Violet Buechner.
The Christian funeral service for Alice will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, 129 S. Mason Street in Appleton. Rev. Thomas Mielke will be officiating. Burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery in Algoma. The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday at the church from 10:00 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Fox Valley Lutheran Homes are appreciated.
