Alan L. Wilson

Alan “Al” Lee Wilson, age 77 of Menasha, WI joined his heavenly kingdom on November 27, 2025. He was born to the late Charles and Katherine (Schafer) Wilson on August 5, 1948 in Spring Valley, IL. Alan grew up in Iowa, but later moved to Appleton. After graduating from high school, Al was drafted into the Army during the Vietnam conflict and served overseas in the war. After the war, Al owned Wilson Shell Station and later bought Kramer Ridge Auto Parts, where he owned and operated the business for rest of his life. Al married Donna Horst in September of 1988, combining their families.

Al was a wonderful man with a heart of gold – compassionate to everyone no matter who they were or what they were going through. Al loved the quiet peace of fishing and gardening. He was a true patriot – red, white, and blue through and through – and liked talking politics with his friends. Al was a lover of all sports, but basketball had a special place in his heart. But more than anything else, Al loved his family and cherished every moment he spent with his kids and his grandkids.

Alan will be missed by his wife, Donna; his children, Amy (Hank) Highfield and Chad (Jessica) Wilson; his step-children, Robert Horst (S.O. Jessica Kohlman), Brian Horst (S.O. Kelly See), and Aimee (Mike) Stevens; his grandchildren, Wayne (Lauren), Walker, Reagan, and Rexley Highfield, and Wyatt Wilson; his step-grandchildren, Cody (Sara) and Kyle (Taylor) Horst, Megan (Alex) Stegath, Sam, Gemma, and Alex Horst, and Trevor and Logan Stevens; his step-great-grandkids, Hayden, Blaze, and Marley Horst; his brothers, Rodney and Roger Wilson; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended relatives, and dear friends.

A memorial visitation will be held for Alan from 10 AM – 12 PM on Saturday, December 13, 2025 at Wichmann-Laemmrich Chapel, 312 Milwaukee St, Menasha, WI 54952 with a memorial service at 12 PM.
