Aaron Richard Nelson, age 19 of Kimberly, passed away unexpectedly and tragically on May 12, 2024. Aaron was born on April 20, 2005 in Milwaukee to Mark and Stacie (Brethouwer) Nelson. He was a 2023 graduate of Kimberly High School. He was currently attending Fox Valley Tech to become an electrician. He started his youth apprenticeship at Fox Valley Tech while in high school. He was about to start his year three electrical apprenticeship to become a Journeyman Electrician. He was employed with Suburban Electric as an Apprentice Electrician. Aaron loved to learn and was very motivated to continue with his future career.
Growing up he was very active in sports, especially volleyball during high school. He enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his buddies in addition to video games and online gaming. He was a very smart and inquisitive young man who had a smile that could light up the room. He loved his 2000 Mustang GT and learned how to work on the car on his own and was very proud of his accomplishments.
He will be profoundly missed by his parents, Stacie (Bob Dahl) Brethouwer and Mark (Jennifer) Nelson, siblings Clayton (Samantha) Nelson, Dylan Nelson, Garrett Fisher and Natalie Fisher; nephew Cohen Nelson, maternal grandparents Harriet (Mark Whaley) Gunn and paternal grandparents David and Janet Nelson. He is further survived by aunts and uncles, Martin (Robbi) Brethouwer, Michael (Brenda) Nelson, Phylis (Daniel) Gibbon, his beloved cat Zeke, his work family from Suburban and numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Richard Brethouwer and uncle Michael Brethouwer.
There will be a gathering for family and friends at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home in Kimberly on Friday, May 17, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM followed by a service in celebration of Aaron’s life at 6:00 PM.
The family would like to say thank you to the first responders who helped Aaron at the scene, the nurses and staff at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center. Also, a special thank you to the team from the University of Wisconsin Organ and Tissue donation team who assisted with Aaron’s anatomical gift.
Our hearts are broken beyond measure. We never could have imagined we would only get 19 years with him. We appreciate all of the outpouring of love and support from family and friends. He was so special to so many.
In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be established in Aaron’s honor.
