Age 83, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2002 at his home following a struggle with lung cancer. He was born on March 13, 1919 in China. In 1961 he married Ling Tai Wong in Hong Kong. He immigrated to this country and to New York early in his life. He spent a large part of his life in Connecticut where he was a chef in a country club where he earned his nickname of “King”. He retired and came to Appleton in 1994 to be with his family. King enjoyed growing plants in his home, gardening in his yard, and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife Ling of Appleton, his son Dan (Winnie) Hoo of Appleton; his granddaughter Christina Hoo and his grandson Alex Hoo all of Appleton; and many nieces and nephews in China.
There will be a visitation on Saturday, November 2, 2002 at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 3:30 to 4:30 with a reception to follow. A memorial fund is being established.
