Age 92, passed away at Brewster Village on Monday, September 3, 2007. He was born in Appleton on November 11, 1914 the son of the late Louis and Theresa (Christl) Elsner. He was employed at Albany International in Quality Control for many years. Stuart had many interests including gardening and fishing on Lake Michigan. He especially enjoyed traveling with his daughter Sally and taking pictures at many destinations in the United States and Canada.

Stuart is survived by his daughter, Sally Carey of Lake Bluff, IL; grandchildren: Lynn Carey of Denver, CO and Sarah (Michael) Cancel of Chula Vista, CA; and great-grandchildren: Christina Rowe and Tyler Cancel. He is preceded in death by sisters: Verona Smith (Harrison), Lucille Strang, Eldora Inman and Jane Smith; and brothers: Willis, Gordon and Ward.

The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Appleton Alliance Church, 2693 W. Grand Chute Blvd., Appleton, with Rev. Dick Schaefer officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. The Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Appleton.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Stuart’s name is being established.
